Often the couple getting hitched are long-time partners, but sometimes they’ve only recently met. Sometimes the synergy is obvious, other times you wonder why one is attracted to the other, and where they could possibly find common ground. Perhaps they’re years apart in age, or of different ethnicities, different economic circumstances, different political views. Perhaps they’re of the same race, perhaps not. Perhaps they’re of different genders, perhaps not.
If you attend a wedding this Summer, you’ll probably make some qualitative judgements about the occasion, the way it’s carried out, and the couple being joined.
You know what? It’s really only about them, their commitment to each other, and their future together. Be thankful you were invited to share the occasion, dance a little and enjoy the cake (there’s usually cake). And wish them well.
